I know you're not a 'real' mystagogue - I wrote the whole thing tongue in cheek, as a bit of fun for Christmas.
I think you might be right about your assessment; however, just to check we are singing from the same hymn sheet:
Are you saying that fragments of the mystery cults are still in existence, perhaps, codified through popular culture? Maybe these groups survived the Inquisition of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries and the Puritans of the seventeenth century? Like an underground stream of knowledge bubbling under the surface of society - to arise in more enlightened times?
If you are thinking along those lines then that is an interesting concept, one I am willing to speculate on.
